Ea: Spirit of Sovereignty

The Hawaiian word “Ea” means sovereignty.  Pele represents the unconditional dignity and freedom of the Hawaiian people.  She also symbolizes the wild soul of all people of the earth. Every one of us comes from an indigenous lineage that has been colonized.  Our ancestors lived close to nature and remembered the sacred. Pele sees the domination culture and will have none of it. She is the flame of freedom that burns within us always. Ea!
